ML King Jr., Week of Peace Events

Events Series Will Be Held at Dillard, Tulane and Loyola universities. No tickets or reservations are required for any of these events.

  • A step team competition showcasing the talents of teams from all four universities set for Friday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. at Tulane’s McAlister Auditorium;
  • an after-party of music and dancing at Tulane’s Qatar Auditorium at 9 p.m. immediately following the step competition (open to those with a college student ID only);
  • the MLK convocation and symposium Saturday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. in Loyola’s Danna Student Center, including a keynote speech from Brown Trickey and breakout sessions; and
  • an interfaith service to commemorate King’s legacy set for 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 at Dillard’s Lawless Chapel, including performances from a combined university choir and scripture readings.

Dillard University students saw the film Mandela at special screening Monday. His life on the big screen gave them a glimpse of what an amazing impact this man had on the world. RIP Nelson Mandela.
